Mike entered the finance industry in 1994 after serving ten years with the United States Air Force. He has served as an Investment Accountant and a Financial Controller prior to establishing Alliance Financial & Income Tax with his wife Lana in 2002. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting/Management from Park University while in the Air Force and later earned the professional designation of Enrolled Agent.
His focus is to assist individuals and small businesses in pursuing their financial objectives through education, personalized accounting, tax, financial and investment management services.
His goal is to help his clients pursue their financial goals the same way they would do it for themselves if they had his expertise, his experience and the time to do it. He is committed to delivering the highest quality personal financial service to his clients.

Lana Mead
Director of Client Relations

Prior to Lana establishing Alliance Financial and Income Tax with her husband Mike, Lana was a school teacher. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education in 1988 from Central Missouri State University.
For the first eight years of the company Lana was the Senior Loan officer for the company’s residential and commercial mortgage department. In 2008 when the company chose to close the mortgage division and focus on its core services of Financial, Accounting and Income Tax services Lana assumed her current role.
As the Director of Client Relations she has a proactive role in insuring that client’s needs and expectations are being met. She is also responsible in establishing new client relations as the company continues to grow.

Barbara Mead
Office Manager

Barbara joined Alliance Financial & Income Tax in 2008 as their office manager after leaving the Hubbell Law Firm. She worked for the Hubbell Law Firm as a legal assistant for over 33 years. The Hubbell Law Firm specializes in railroad injuries and represents railroad employees throughout the United States. Part of her responsibilities at the law firm were to conduct interviews, speak and deal with the clients, claim agents and other attorneys. She would draft legal documents, pleadings and correspondence with various parties involved in the case. She would make summaries of depositions, interrogatories and testimony. She was present with the attorney(s) when they attended trial. She maintained and organized client files so that they were easily accessible to the attorney.
Prior to moving to the Kansas City area in 1975, Barb received her Bachelors’ Degree in elementary education and taught elementary school in the Lincoln, Nebraska area for seven years.
As the office manager for Alliance Financial & Income Tax, she handles a wide range of responsibilities to ensure the smooth functioning of the office. She has good communication skills and is responsible for listening to any questions or concerns that need to be addressed. She is at ease while greeting and conversing with others. This enables her to get the job done in the most efficient way possible.

Jyl Webb
Accounting Specialist

Jyl is an Accounting Specialist with Alliance Financial & Income Tax, assisting small business clients in keeping accurate records of their company’s finances. She reviews financial records to identify and correct errors. She also teaches clients how to use their own Quickbooks more effectively, including time-saving measures and compliance with tax laws. She prepares monthly Sales Tax Returns, Income Statements, and Balance Sheets for a variety of clients in a variety of industries.
Prior to joining the team at Alliance Financial & Income Tax Jyl served as a Manager of Accounting and Operations with a large local company and as a Commercial Loan Officer for a regional bank. She also was a Staff Instructor of Management and Economics at Missouri Western State University after receiving her MBA with a concentration in Finance from the University of Minnesota.

Anita McMinn

Anita brings more than 15 years of accounting experience and expertise to Alliance Financial & Income Tax. Before joining the team, Anita received a Specialized Business Degree with Major in Accounting, after serving four years in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. She has over 8 years of experience working closely with business owners on planning, process, and procedure solutions.
Anita prides herself on providing excellent customer service, ensuring efficient, effective transactions for her clients while maintaining a personal interest in the success of her clients.
